SPE Members’ Pin-Up Exhibition / Reno 2025

Exhibition Announcement: Society for Photographic Education National Conference 2025 If you're in Reno, Nevada for the Society for Photographic Education (SPE) National Conference from March 6-9, you might catch a glimpse of my work in the SPE Members' Digital Pin-Up Exhibition, on display in the main lobby of the conference at the Peppermill Reno Resort. For those unable to attend—or who want a closer look—here are the pieces I submitted for the exhibition, each exploring the conference theme: "Adaptation." Adaptation in Light and Motion The history of photography is one of continual reinvention, a medium shaped by technological, cultural, and [...]

Masquerade

This dreamy photogram is about to get a new home. I'm a little sad to part with it but I'm donating the original to the JSU Red Tie Dinner & Auction event to help raise scholarship funds for the JSU Art Alumni Chapter. I created this photogram in 2017. I believe it was my second time working with photograms and I immediately fell in love with the process. Photograms are a cameraless photographic process. They're made by placing objects directly on the surface of light-sensitive material, such as photographic paper, and exposing it to light. The images are then developed [...]

Golden Lens Exhibition

If you're near the Shreveport, LA area check out the Golden Lens Exhibition at Artstation on display January 12th - February 11th with an artist's reception on February 8th. I created work specifically for this competition while in Shreveport this past October. I submitted three images for the show and know that at least one of them made it into the exhibition. When the Moon Calls My Name 'When the Moon Calls My Name' was taken in lovely Riverview Park with the golden Horseshoe Casino in the background and features a quirky clown figurine bought at a local [...]

Searching for Life: Regrowth & Display

My self-portrait, Lamb of God, is currently on display at Xavier University Art Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio! It's part of a WE, the Women's Caucus Exhibition titled Searching for Life: Regrowth & Display that felt very appropriate. The opening reception is this coming Friday, October 7 and I believe the show runs till the end of October. I am bummed I won't be able to make it to see the show in person (unless someone wants to take a long road trip with me in mid-October) but I am super pumped because this is the beginning of a new series and the first exhibition of it. This image is part of a small set called Resurrection, which is part of a larger series that I am currently working on about spirituality. Speaking of which, I've been experiencing a lot of synchronicities lately. I'm not sure if this one really counts but today I sat down planning to post some sort of announcement about this exhibition and remembered that I was in the hospital with Covid this time two years ago. Out of curiosity, I opened my photo archive to see what I was doing on this day two years ago and this image was the first thing I saw. How fun is that!

Alternative Narratives

Super pumped to announce that my #MeToo work has been accepted for exhibition in Alternative Narratives, an online alternative process photography exhibition in honor of Women's History Month hosted by AlternativeProcesses.org. Only twenty-two artists were chosen to exhibit out of 190 applicants so it is a huge honor. There are some seriously talented and creative folks in this exhibition and I feel extra flattered to be included in their number. It's been a minute since I've exhibited my photography work and I'm excited to be sharing again. I am itching to create new work but I have a lot of great work from grad school that I want to get out into the world a bit more so I'm excited about this opportunity. The online exhibition isn't live yet but I will update this post once it is. In the meantime check out Alternative Processes online at alternativeprocesses.org and on Instagram @alternativeprocesses.

Lumen, My MFA Thesis Exhibition

My MFA thesis exhibition is a wrap! I was super nervous about my show but it turned out great and everyone I spoke with told me they enjoyed playing the game. It was great to see strangers playing together and having a good time. Thanks to the pandemic and COVID it's taken a long time to wrap up this project. There's definitely still room for improvement but I think this is a pretty great start. Visit this blog post to read more about my MFA exhibition and Lumen, the card game/teaching tool I created.
