Alt Process Photography Exhibition

Super pumped to announce that my #MeToo work has been accepted for exhibition in Alternative Narratives, an online alternative process photography exhibition in honor of Women’s History Month hosted by AlternativeProcesses.org.

Only twenty-two artists were chosen to exhibit out of 190 applicants so it is a huge honor. There are some seriously talented and creative folks in this exhibition and I feel extra flattered to be included in their number.

It’s been a minute since I’ve exhibited my photography work and I’m excited to be sharing again. I am itching to create new work but I have a lot of great work from grad school that I want to get out into the world a bit more so I’m excited about this opportunity.

The online exhibition isn’t live yet but I will update this post once it is. In the meantime check out Alternative Processes online at alternativeprocesses.org and on Instagram @alternativeprocesses.

Over $2600 Raised for Red Cross Ukraine

Alternative Processes raised over $2600 for Red Cross Ukraine through voluntary application donations. Supporting this cause was a big part of what motivated me to enter the show.

As a platform, Alternative Processes condemns Russia’s brutal act of war in Ukraine and we want to manifest our full solidarity with Ukraine’s people and all those who are suffering innocently from this totally unacceptable war. ALL the proceeds from the open call application fees will be donated to @redcrossukraine

Selection Announcement

Congratulations to everyone selected! I Instagram stalked everyone and was super impressed by the work I saw. I can’t wait to see the work entered into the show. If you’re interested in Alt Process Photography I highly recommend you check out the Instagram links included below.

Here’s the names of selected artists for the exhibition “Alternative Narratives” in occasion of Women History Month. The competition was extremely tough, the quality of the work we saw surpassed every open call we have ever run. Thank you to all the 190 participants who applied and donated to this cause. We are a small organisation run by volunteers and being able to make such a difference in someone’s life is truly fulfilling. Together, we raised and donated 2.440€ to Red Cross Ukraine ♥️🇺🇦

Call for Entry

<Alternative Narratives> is Alternative Processes’ open call for Women History Month.

Alternative Processes has been active for 5 years now and since 2017 has established itself as a leading online platform in the alternative and darkroom photography niche. It’s a women-led platform that curates, edits and writes content about alternative processes in the contemporary photography landscape.

For Women’s History Month we are launching an open call inviting anyone who identifies as a woman and is involved in the creation and experimentation with alternative processes to submit.

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions throughout history. We want to take this opportunity to identify, recognize and increase visibility of women-identifying artists achievements in alternative photography. Women have shaped modern photography and played a key role in the history of the medium, from its early evolution to the 21st century. Yet their contributions often remained unrecognized compared to their better celebrated male colleagues.

This year’s International Women’s Day’s theme is ‘Break the Bias’. We are seeking works that break the bias of what photography is assumed to be, and challenge the canon of the history of photography.
