Photo Printing at Caesar’s Home Studio

I joined some of my fellow Alabama Shutterbugs members at the home studio of Caesar Fernandez (Wild Nature Photography) for a print day. Caesar demonstrated how to print and coat a canvas print and build a custom sized frame for it, and he generously let us do some test prints of different types of media.

I printed two images, one of the Gold Pavilion on metallic paper which suited the sheen of the Pavilion itself, and an image of Utsuomiya on luster paper that I absolutely love. It’s so fun to print big since it allows you to see all the little details in the scene. I can’t wait to work on more photos from Japan, most of which should probably be printed large. #sigh I really want to plan a trip to Japan just to take photos. I regret not shooting completely in raw while there last summer but I ran out of room on my SD cards and SD cards in Japan were 3-4x the price of what we can purchase them for in the U.S.

I love this image big so you can see all the details. It’s a fun scene. Luster Paper
