Today started out great, then bombed, then got a little better. Right now this whole week feels like a haze. I shot and developed 35mm film for my film class, did web work at Faculty Commons, worked on branding for my design studio class, had several meetings, worked on a cue sheet and sound plan for Sound Design, and taught/guest critiqued for the senior show class. It was filled with so much stuff it’s kind of a blur, plus I didn’t get much sleep. I think I’m going to just hibernate during my break in December. It’ll take me the whole month to catch up on missed sleep. The highlight of the week, and probably of the semester, was critiquing the senior class on Thursday. They are a really great and talented group of students with some impressive plans for their senior show. I can’t wait to see what they accomplish.

Monday

  • Shot more 35mm film
  • Web Work at Faculty Commons
  • Design Studio Class
  • Darkroom – Film Processing

My wonderful husband bought me dinner since I was stuck in the Darkroom developing film.

  • Art Alumni Chapter meeting with Seth

Wednesday

  • Work: Faculty Commons
    • The fire alarm went off and it took forever for someone to get it to go off. I still don’t know what caused it. Gena treated me to lunch at Moma Golbergs. It was really nice to go out for lunch. I miss having lunch dates.
  • Design Studio Class
  • Darkroom (6:30 pm to 3:30 am)  I was miserable!!! I thought about just staying up but I am seriously too old to do that. I drove home and slept for two hours before going back to school. Finally realized what I was doing wrong. Note to self: Expose for the highlights!!!

Thursday

  • Senior Class Critique — probably my favorite experience of the semester. I’m so glad I got to do this. I love helping others.
  • Darkroom Photo (made it to the last 30 minutes of class but wasn’t able to do more than ask a few questions).
  • Photo Club Meeting — We had a nice turnout. My mom was awesome and picked up pizza from Little Caesars for me. It was a really great first meeting.
  • Sound Design
  • Faculty Commons

Friday/Saturday/Sunday

  • Lynda.com: Audacity Training & Black and White Photo Printing Courses
  • Photo Book
  • Photographed Jason’s Thesis Exhibit at GMA
  • Shot some 120 with a Holga
  • Actually watched a movie with Karl (Bladerunner 1982)
  • Karl left for Ohio, he’ll be gone almost two weeks. 🙁
  • Shot more 35mm film
  • Spent 9 hours in the darkroom printing on Sunday. Much longer than expected but I feel like I’m making progress.

Learning all the things!
